Plastic Surgey Department
The Plastic Surgery Department was founded by Professor Wenan Cao, the first chief of the department, in 1965. After more than 40 years' development, the dept. has become a center of clinical service, medical research and training, which enjoys the reputation of domestic advanced medical service with its strong medical personnel, high-tech equipment and multidisciplinary partnership. As the teaching base and advanced skill training center of West China Medical School of Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu Medical College, Luzhou Medical College, and Zunyi Medical College, it has trained more than 100 plastic surgeons in Sichuan and has cooperation with domestic and overseas institutions of plastic surgery.
The dept. has 12 professional staff members, including 1 chief surgeon, 6 associate chief surgeons, and 2 attending doctors.The department admits more than 8,000 patients each year and performs more than 4,000 operations. It has established long-term cooperative relationships with a number of foreign famous plastic intuitions to make sure of advanced medical service, such as Prince of Wales Hospital, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard University. The department has hired two professors of Kinki University as visiting professors. At present, there are Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Center and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center in the plastic surgery department.
Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Center offers treatment for tumors of body surface, traumatic defects of skin, decubitus, diabetic ulcer, Cicatrix, deformity of superficial organs, limb malformation, peripheral nerve injuries repair and reconstruction. Among them, ear, eyelid, nose, breast, finger, penis reconstructions have reached the international advanced level.
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center provides various kinds of aesthetic surgeries, some of which have reached domestic advanced level, such as double eyelid plasty, baggy eyelids plasty, facial rejuvenation, augmentation rhinoplasty, rhinoplasty of nasal tip, cheilostomatoplasty, augmentation mammoplasty, mammillaplasty (including correction of nipple retraction), reduction mammaplastyliposuction, penile elongation, hymenorrhaphy,vaginal tightening surgery and hair transplantation.
The dept. is centered on patients, offering 24 hours advanced medical service. Equipped with 30 in-patient beds and out-patient operating room, the department. provides convenient environment, safe surgery and eutherapeutic treatment for the patients on the 11th floor of the first inpatient building. All the staff in the plastic surgery department are willing to help the patients to rehabilitate images, rebuild confidence and hug the wonderful world again!
