Paediatrics
Department of pediatrics is one of the key disciplines of Sichuan Province.
There are one expert entitled to special allowance of State Council，one academic and technical leader of Sichuan Province，one excellent expert with outstanding contribution，three academic and technical leaders of Sichuan Provincial Health Department and six master's tutors in the dept.. Some pediatricians have served as member of Clinical Epidemiology Branch and Perinatal Medicine Branch，Chinese Medical Association；member of the Standing Committee of Child Injury Prevention and Control Group，Branch of Damage Prevention and Control，Chinese Preventive Medicine Association；members of Neonatal Professional Committee，Chinese Medical Doctor Association；the first chairman of Perinatal Medicine Professional Committee，Sichuan Provincial Medical Association；vice chairman of Pediatric Professional Committee，Professional Committee of Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine Professional Committee，Sichuan Provincial Medical Association；vice chairman of Pediatric Professional Committee，Doctors' association of Sichuan province；vice chairman of Pediatric Professional Committee，Sichuan Province Association of Rehabilitation Medicine；vice chairman of Pediatric Professional Committee，The Combination of Chinese traditional and Western Medicine Institute of Sichuan Province.
The academic level is at the leading level in the province and well-known in China.
There are 145 medical staff, including 42 doctors，102 nurses，1 respiratory therapists. Among them，there were 6 chief physicians，12 deputy chief physicians，1 senior nurse, 4 deputy director nurse, 17 attending physicians，18 nurses in charge；2 doctor of Medicine，24 master of medicine，1 master of nursing.
It consists of emergency treatment, NICU, PICU, two general wards, and clinics.
The building of outpatients and emergency covers an area of 1200 square meters with 25 observation beds. The total area of NICU, PICU and two ordinary wards is more than 3300 square meters with 100 beds and clean environment. Subspecialties in the dept. currently include neonatology, pulmonology, neurology, hematology and oncology, nephrology, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, critical intensive, growth and development of child and health care.
In 2013，outpatient department of Pediatrics completed diagnosis and treatment for 152757 patients，infusion observation on treatment for 44496 patients. The number of discharged inpatients reached 4343.
In addition to regular medical work, the dept. conducts a number of provincial-level research projects and has won the provincial and municipal scientific and technological progress award.
There are 2 scientific research projects of provincial level，11 of departmentallevel, and 23 of hospital level.
From 2008 to the present, some pediatricians in the dept. Has published 129 papers, including 10 papers in Chinese-level magazines, 12 papers collected by MEDLINE, 3 papers included in SCI. Some pediatricians presided over the preparation and publication of pediatrician training materials “common pediatric diseases lectures” and compiled three books.
In 2012, the dept. was authorized by Sichuan Province Health and Family Planning Commission and has offered guidance to 183 counties in 21 cities.
The dept. has trained 32 graduate students and is the standardization training base of doctors, resident doctors and clinical teaching practice base of pediatrics master, doctor graduate students in Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and undergraduate students of medical schools in the province.
In 2008, the dept. was awarded as advanced units of 5.12 earthquake relief by the hospital; In 2009, it was awarded as advanced unit of medicine and health care system by the Ministry of Health, the State Food and Drug Administration, State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
